FSB, Abkhazia find arms caches for terrorist acts in Sochi.

The Russian security services succeeded to curb the attempts of bandits to realize their criminal plans at the early stage.

MOSCOW, May 10 (Itar-Tass) — During the joint special operation the Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Abkhazian State Security Service have found the caches with explosives and air defence missile systems, which a gang was masterminding to bring to Sochi during the preparations for the Winter Olympics, a spokesman for the information centre of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

“On May 4-5 FSB with the assistance of the Abkhazian security service have completed the scope of search measures, which had been taken since August 2011 against the so-called Abkhazian Jamaat, a criminal cell of the banned international terrorist organization Imarat Caucasus,” he said,

Ten caches with weapons, explosives, ammunition and other weaponry for terrorist acts, were found in Abkhazia. “FSB succeeded to find that the gunmen were masterminding to bring this weaponry to Sochi in 2012-2014 for terrorist acts during the preparations and holding of the Winter Olympics,” the spokesman said, adding that the Russian security services succeeded to curb the attempts of bandits to realize their criminal plans at the early stage.
