MOSCOW, May 9 (Itar-Tass) — U.S. President Barack Obama congratulated Vladimir Putin who returned to his presidential office after inauguration on May 7th in a telephone conversation on Wednesday, the Kremlin press service reports.
Putin and Obama exchanged Victory Day greetings, stressed the historical significance of allied relations that linked the two nations during WWII and extended their warmest greetings to war veterans.
The conversation was constructive. The two presidents discussed prospects for development of Russian-American relations and personal contacts.
