“We bow low to your immortal heroism, your self-sacrifice and courage,” he said in his congratulatory message. “You liberated our native land, Europe and the whole world from the Nazis. We are deeply in debt to you. Thank you for our freedom, thank you that you gave and protected our lives, revived our Motherland from the ashes of war. Ukraine will remember everyone who defended this land.”
