Putin, Hollande agree to pool efforts to promote bilateral relations

MOSCOW, May 9 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian President Vladimir Putin and France’s President Elect Francois Hollande in a telephone conversation on Tuesday expressed “their firm commitment to pool efforts to ensure progressive development of relations between Russian and France, which are of top priority for both states,” the Kremlin press service reported.

Putin congratulated Hollande on his convincing victory in the presidential elections. In turn. Hollande congratulated the Russian head of state on taking office.

The two leaders “highly assessed the level of the development of the Russian-French relations and hailed constructive cooperation both in bilateral affairs and within multi-party organizations on key issues of the international agenda,” the press service said.

Putin and Hollande agreed to maintain regular contacts both through exchange of visits and within international forums.
