Victory Day parade held in Russia’s Far Eastern Khabarovsk

The military parade was followed by a show of military bands, and a march of veterans and general public

KHABAROVSK, May 9 (Itar-Tass) —— A Victory Day military parade was held in Russia’s Far Eastern city of Khabarovsk on Wednesday. About 1,500 servicemen took part in the parade on the city’s central Lenin Square.

WWII veteran watched the parade from the tribune. The military parade was followed by a show of military bands, and a march of veterans and general public.

Officials from the territorial administration and federal authorities, commanders of the Eastern military district and war veterans laid wreaths to the Eternal Flame of the Memorial Complex featuring more than 47,000 manes of residents of the Khabarobsk Territory who died in the Second World War.

Celebrations were continued on the city’s squares, in parks and boulevards. An exhibition of military hardware and armaments, as well as pre-war and wartime automobiles was organized in the Amur embankment. The celebrations will culminate with festive wireworks in the evening.
