More than 30 opposition members detained in Moscow

The protesters are trying to gather in other boulevards

MOSCOW, May 8 (Itar-Tass) —— More than 30 people were detained in opposition actions in Moscow over the past day, the city police department told Itar-Tass.

“The open-ended public gathering” started last night. From 200 to 500 people spent the night near the Heroes of Plevna Monument. The police stopped the action in the morning and the protesters moved to Chistoprudny Boulevard. Ten people were detained there before the opposition moved to Pushkin Square. That action was blocked by OMON and ten more people were taken into custody.

The Other Russia opposition movement said that the detainees included five of its activists – two were detained on Pushkin Square and three on Chistoprudny Boulevard.

The protesters are trying to gather in other boulevards.

”More than 30 people have been detained for administrative violations,” the police said. Some people were detained three or four times and the police explained the impermissibility of their actions. Most of the detainees are young people.
