No political game in decision to nominate Medvedev for PM--Putin

He pointed out that this attitude was formulated "before society" in advance

MOSCOW, May 8 (Itar-Tass) — A decision to nominate Dmitry Medvedev for premiership was known to everyone wayback before the Duma elections, President Vladimir Putin told the State Duma lower house of the Russian parliament at an extraordinary plenary session of the House here on Tuesday when introducing Medvedev's candidacy for confirmation of his being nominated as Prime Minister.

"Today I am introducing the candidacy of Dmitry Medvedev for confirmation of his nomination for the position of Chairman of Governmenr of the Russian Federation. I made this decision long ago," Putin said. He pointed out that this attitude was formulated "before society" in advance. "We did not set forth, before the parliament or the general public, anything that could be described as a put-up job or some game of politics," the President emphasized.
