NOVO-OGARYOVO, May 8 (Itar-Tass) — Vladimir Churov, Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Russia, presented the identity certificate of President of the Russian Federation to Vladimir Putin here on Tuesday.
During a meeting with the Head of State, Churov said, "Allow me to present the presidential identity certificate to you. This is, by the way, the only document certifying that you are the President of the Russian Federation".
Putin expressed gratitude to Churov, to the CEC members "and to all those people who worked (during the electoral process) throughout the Russian Federation". "I know that that was no-easy, time-consuming work in nonsimple political conditions. Nevertheless, they did the job worthily and fully in accordance with the law.Thank you very much," he said.
"We shall do everything together so as to guarantee the rights and freedoms of the citizens of Russia, including electoral ones," Putin assured. "Very good," Churov said in reply.
