MOSCOW, May 7 (Itar-Tass) — According to the latest data, 29 law enforcers were injured during “the March of Millions” in Moscow on Sunday, Itar-Tass learnt on Monday at the press service of the Moscow police department.

“Police took measures to squeeze out citizens from the Maly Kamenny Bridge (Small Stone Bridge), the Bolotnaya Embankment and Bolotnaya Street between 18.00 and 21.00 as well as to detain those who actively opposed legal demands of police officers.

During the operation, 29 policemen and servicemen of interior troops were injured; out of the total, four policemen were hospitalised,” the press service reported.

The department specified that 436 people were detained for law-breaking.

“Following the compilation of protocols on administrative violations, the greater part of detainees was released. Investigations continue with some law-breakers up to this time,” the press service added.

According to police, around 8,000 people participated in the “March of Millions”.

Clashes between march participants and police took place on Sunday during the “March of Millions” that started from Kaluzhskaya Square. Human rights activists note that the conflict situation which disrupted, in actual fact, an expected rally, was provoked by opposition masterminds who went on the so-called sit-in strike near the Udarnik Cinema House.

Police detained leader of the Left Front Sergei Udaltsov, blogger Alexei Navalny and PARNAS co-chairman Boris Nemtsov. The latter was fined 1,000 roubles for violating the established order on staging rallies in Moscow.
