An opposition march has begun from Kaluzhskaya Square to Bolotnaya Square in Moscow

MOSCOW, May 6 (Itar-Tass) —— An opposition march has begun from Kaluzhskaya Square to Bolotnaya Square in Moscow. About 7,500 people are taking part in it, while the organizers have expected to gather 5,000.

People from many regions of Russia are participating part in the action. They said many supporters were not permitted to come to Moscow.

Left Front activists carrying red flags, Solidarity members, anarchists and sexual minorities carrying multi-color flags are taking part in the march. They are carrying signs in protest against Vladimir Putin’s governance; the signs read “Down with Autocracy” and “Full Power to People’s Councils”. The march leaders chant slogans by megaphones and the others repeat them.

The march passes along Bolshaya Yakimanka Street to Bolotnaya Square for a rally. There are still people wishing to join the march. About 1,000 are standing in line to pass through metal detectors.
