MOSCOW, May 6 (Itar-Tass) — The Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations sends a helicopter to Tuva to put out a wildfire that is raging two kilometers away from a local settlement, the ministry’s regional department told Tass on Sunday.
“A wildfire began two kilometers south of the settlement of Shuumak, Tem-Khem district, at 10:10 am Moscow time. Its total area is about two hectares,” a source said.
A Mi-8 helicopter of EMERCOM’s Siberian regional centre will be dispatched to the area. Over 60 people assisted by almost 20 units of hardware combat the fire at the moment, the source said, adding that “there is no danger that the fire will spread to the settlement”.
