Putin pays tribute to memory of victims of Dagestan terrorist act

Two explosions occurred near the traffic control post in Makhachkala on May 3

MOSCOW, May 5 (Itar-Tass) — Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has paid the tribute to the memory of victims of the terrorist act in Dagestan by observing a minute of silence.

Putin pledged that relatives of victims would be provided one million roubles. People who were heavily injured will be allocated 400,000 roubles and those who received light injuries will be given 200,000 roubles, the prime minister said at a session of the Coordinating Council for Veterans Affairs at the Government of the Russian Federation on Saturday.

“In compliance with the law, it is necessary to provide necessary resources in order to support people. People who were heavily injured will be allocated 400,000 roubles and those who received light injuries will be given 200,000 roubles,” Putin stressed.

Two explosions occurred near the traffic control post in Makhachkala on May 3. The blasts were equal to 50 kg and 100 kg of TNT. Both of them were filled with scattering ammunition. According to the latest reports, as a result of the explosions 13 people were killed and 88 people were injured.
