36 searches on terrorists, their relatives made in Makhachkala

MOSCOW, May 5 (Itar-Tass) —— The detectives have made 36 searches on suspected perpetrators of the terrorist acts in Makhachkala, where, according to specified reports, 13 people were killed, as well as on relatives of suspected terrorists, spokesman for the Russian Investigation Committee Vladimir Markin told Itar-Tass on Saturday.

“Active investigation actions are being taken to find the perpetrators and masterminds of a terrorist act, which was committed at the Makhachkala road police post Alaska-30 on May 3,” he said.

“To identify the perpetrators of the terrorist act (suicide bombers) a genetic expertise was scheduled for the fragments of bodies found at the crime scene. The witnesses of the crime were found and interrogated. The identikit of a criminal, who committed the terrorist act, was made up. The owner of the Mitsubishi car used for the first blast was found and interrogated,” Markin said.

Meanwhile, the CCTV cameras located near the blast sites were confiscated and examined.

“The urgent information about members of the Makhachkala gangs involved in the terrorist acts is being investigated,” the spokesman added.

Dagestani President Magomedsalam Magomedov said earlier at an extraordinary meeting of the republican government that, according to the preliminary reports, the brother and the sister surnamed Aliyev committed the terrorist act in Makhachkala. “The names of the suicide bombers were preliminarily found. They are sister and brother Rizvan and Muslimat surnamed Aliyev. They are the former residents of Makhachkala,” the press service quoted Magomedov as saying.

According to the latest reports, the terrorist act at the road police station wounded 101 people, 13 of them, mainly policemen, were killed.

The power of the bombs, which was detonated with an interval of 20 minutes, has made about 50 and 100 kilograms of TNT. Both bombs were staffed with striking pieces.
