MOSCOW, May 5 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia’s outgoing President Dmitry Medvedev has congratulated the newspaper Pravda on its 100th anniversary.
“The history of the newspaper is part and parcel of the history of our homeland and the history of the country’s journalism. Among the newspaper’s contributors were acclaimed writers, publicists, scientists and experts. Mikhail Koltsov, Yuri Zhukov, Yevgeny Primakov, Vsevolod Ovchinnikov were among those who worked with the newspaper. Thanks to their professionalism and unsurpassed skills the newspaper has acquired its special style and has won popularity with readers of various generations,” Medvedev said in a congratulatory message posted on the official website of the head of state on Saturday.
“It is important that the newspaper has found its niche on the Russian media market. It has always had room for various viewpoints and a broad discussion on topical problems of the day,” the message said.
