Petersburg court sentences killer of former reality show star to 11 years

The investigators said "the suspect assumed that Kadetov had raped his girlfriend, and took revenge upon him"

ST. PETERSBURG, May 4 (Itar-Tass) — The Kalininsky district court of St Petersburg sentenced former employee of the Emergency Situations Ministry Yuri Zhidkov to 11 years for the murder of former Dom-2 reality show star Andrei Kadetov in December 2010. The convicted person will serve his sentence in a maximum security penitentiary, the press service of the Investigative Committee's department for St Petersburg told Itar-Tass on Friday.

It was ascertained that on December 24, 2010, Zhidkov attacked Kadetov near House 70 in Svetlanovsky Prospekt /Street/ and stabbed him 15 times. Kadetov died of the wounds in the ambulance.

Zhidkov was detained several months later in St Petersburg. The investigators said "the suspect assumed that Kadetov had raped his girlfriend, and took revenge upon him."
