KAZAN, May 4 (Itar-Tass) — The Russian Interior Ministry has prepared the concept of a new personnel policy within the framework of the ministry’s reform, Deputy Interior Minister Sergei Gerasimov said at a press conference on Friday, introducing to the personnel of the law enforcement agencies of Tatarstan the republic’s new Interior Ministry Artem Khokhorin.
According to Gerasimov, in accordance with this Interior Ministry’s document, “the ministry’s internal approaches will be cardinally revised,” especially “the principles relating to the selection, training and placement of personnel.” Attention will be given to each police officer “from his first appointment day and until the transfer to the reserve.”
“This is a global document,” Gerasimov said. The fundamentally new concept, in his opinion, will make it possible “to take radical steps towards reforming the agency.”
The RF deputy interior minister noted that in 2010-2011 serious steps were made to renew the sphere. “But reform is not finished, it continues, the procedures of merit rating of police officers have been carried out and will continue,” he said.
Gerasimov said that the ministry will select the best personnel. He said that Tatarstan’s new Interior Minister Artem Khokhorin is one of such persons. “He is an organised, consistent, very competent professional, a considerate leader. He knows the problems in law enforcement agencies and knows how to settle them,” the RF deputy interior minister concluded.
