Makhachkala terrorist attack death toll rises to 14

Police already have information about the masterminders of the crime and those who set off the explosive devices

MAKHACHKALA, May 4 (Itar-Tass) —— According to Dagestan's Health Ministry, the terrorist attack in Makhachkala killed 14 people.

Two of the victims are not identified yet, and one EMERCOM specialist is missing, a ministry source told Itar-Tass.

The Russian Emergencies Ministry reported earlier that 13 people died and 109 were injured, and the Dagestani interior minister said 11 died and 87 were injured.

According to the republic's Health Ministry, the double terrorist attack injured 101 people, including one child. Appropriate medical care is provided for all the people. Two seriously injured people are taken to Beslan for treatment.

Two explosions went off near a traffic police post in Makhachkala late on Thursday. The power of the first blast was equivalent to about 50 kilogrammes of TNT and the second to 100 kilogrammes.
