MAKACHKALA, May 4 (Itar-Tass) — Dagestan announced May 5 the day of mourning for the victims of double bombing, the republic's leader, Magomedsalam Magomedov, told reporters on Friday during his visit to city hospital # 2 which is treating blast victims.
Two explosions occurred near a road police post on Thursday evening. The bombs' yields were 50 and 100 kilograms TNT, both were filled with destructive agents. The police said they have information about suspected organizers and perpetrators.
There have been conflicting reports about the causalities. The republic's Public Health Ministry reported 14 fatalities; two of them have not been identified yet. An Emergency Situations Ministry employee is missing.
Some reports said 11 persons had been killed.
"One hundred and one persons have been injured in double bombing, including one child," the republic’s Health Ministry said. All the victims are receiving the necessary medical assistance.
Two seriously injured persons were taken to Beslan for treatment.
