Makeshift devices used for Dnepropetrovsk’s explosions

The first bomb was an equivalent to 160 grams of TNT, second one – 190 grams of TNT, third one – 230 grams of TNT and fourth one – 300 grams of TNT

KIEV, May 4 (Itar-Tass) — Makeshift propellant action explosive devices were planted in Dnepropetrovsk, eastern Ukraine, which was rocked by four explosions last Friday, when 30 people were wounded, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vitaly Zakharchenko told a news conference on Friday.

“Bomb disposal experts found out that these were makeshift coated explosive devices of propellant action,” he said. The first bomb was an equivalent to 160 grams of TNT, second one – 190 grams of TNT, third one – 230 grams of TNT and fourth one – 300 grams of TNT.

“Each explosion that hit Dnepropetrovsk on April 27 was stronger than the previous one,” Zakharchenko said adding that street litter bins where the explosive devices were planted were used as destructive elements.

“Bins are made of reinforced concrete and asbestos and when the explosive devices went off they broke into fragments,” he said.
