VILNIUS, May 4 (Itar-Tass) — The Baltic Fortress 2012 military exercise begins on Friday in the territorial waters of Lithuania. It will bring together units and warships of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, sources from the Lithuanian Defense Ministry told Tass.
The scenario of the war game was trained late in March in a mapping exercise at the training centre of Lithuania’s Navy in Klaipeda.
Baltic Fortress exercises are held yearly, and the host countries are rotated. The previous exercise was held in the territorial waters of Estonia last year.
