Ski jump on fire in Moscow’s Vorobyevy Hills area

MOSCOW, May 2 (Itar-Tass) —— A ski jump is on fire in Moscow’s Vorobyevy Hills area, a spokesman for the city’s emergencies administration told Itar-Tass late on Wednesday.

According to the spokesman, a signal about a fire in the vicinity of the viewing point on top the Vorobyevy Hills came at 22:45 Moscow time. “The ski jump’s plastic coating at a height at ten meters is on fire. The fire’s overall area is 70 square meters,” the spokesman said. No one was hurt.

Fire fighting operation is in progress and an investigation into what might have caused the fire has been launched.
