Fire put out in village in Tver region, no one hurt

The firemen continued to pour water on the smoking structures to prevent a new fire outbreak

 MOSCOW, May 1 (Itar-Tass) —— The fire in the village Tysyatskoye in the Tver region was put out at 8:05 p.m. Moscow time, Darya Korovina, spokesperson for the central regional office of the Emergency Situations Ministry, told Itar-Tass.

She said the firemen continued to pour water on the smoking structures to prevent a new fire outbreak. According to the preliminary reports, no one is hurt.

Two homes caught fire at 4:50 p.m. Moscow time and high winds fanned the blaze onto another eight buildings. The probable cause of the fire is negligence. In all, the village has about 170 homes. Twenty-three people were evacuated from the village.

Tver Governor Andrei Shevelev is visiting the fire scene to assist the accommodation of the fire victims.
