About 3,500 taking part in Communist march in downtown Moscow

Some 3,500 people took part in the Communist Party march in downtown Moscow on Tuesday, the city police told Itar-Tass

MOSCOW, May 1 (Itar-Tass) —— Some 3,500 people took part in the Communist Party march in downtown Moscow on Tuesday, the city police told Itar-Tass.

The march organizers are the Russian Communist Party, the Movement in Defense of the Armed Forces, the Union of Soviet Officers, the women’s movement Hope of Russia, the Labor Russia movement, the Union of Communist Youth, the Eurasian Youth Movement and some others.

The march started on Kaluzhskaya Square and passed along Bolshaya Yakimanka, Bolshaya Polyanka, Maly and Bolshoy Kamenny Bridges, Mokhovaya Street and Okhotny Ryad Street towards Teatralnaya Square, where a rally was planned.

In all, more than ten events of various political movements are taking place in Moscow. The biggest action was held by trade unions. About 150,000 people took part in it.
