MOSCOW, April 29 (Itar-Tass) —— Air temperatures in Moscow hit a daily record on Sunday. City weather stations recorded temperatures of 29 degrees Centigrade at 3:00 p.m. local time. The previous record of 25.4 degrees was made in 2009.
At the same time, the city emergency situations department issued a storm warning for tonight and said accidents were possible.
“High winds will blow in Moscow on Sunday afternoon, up to 15-20 meters per second. Power lines may be damaged, trees may fall and billboards may be torn off, blocking city roads,” says a department report received by Itar-Tass.
There was a thunderstorm in the city in the morning, and a new one is possible in the suburbs at night.
