KIEV, April 28 (Itar-Tass) —— Several explosions in Dnepropetrovsk, where about 30 people were injured, were found as a terrorist act. Hundreds of detectives and specialists of the law enforcement agencies are working in the city. No people were detained, but various theories were made public.
Local media made public the opinions of the experts, which assumed that “an extremely acute confrontation between the business groups could have caused the blasts in Dnepropetrovsk.” “These explosions went off some time after the murder of a well-known businessman Gennady Akselrod,” who sustained three attempts on his life in similar blasts for the last two years, a political expert Vasily Stoyakin said. Akselrod’s partner Vyacheslav Braginsky was killed in the first attempt on Akselrod.
Another expert Yuri Romanenko considers as the main motive “a criminal showdown for the right to control the city.” This is the most logical theory, because it fits the murder of Akselrod last week.
Romanenko did not drop the second theory, “The terrorist acts were committed to keep away the attention of the society from a new trial against Yulia Timoshenko.”
