VLADIVOSTOK, April 28 (Itar-Tass) —— Rivers in the Primorsky Territory began to overflow their banks after the heavy rains.
Over the past 24 hours, the Ussuri, Ilistaya, Malinovka, Arsenyevka and Partizanskaya rivers rose more than one metre and began to flood lower areas, the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry's Far Eastern regional centre told Itar-Tass on Saturday.
According to rescuers' forecasts, the rivers will continue to go up on Saturday, posing the threat of flood to local roads and outskirts of villages. Dangerous overflows that can seriously damage facilities are not expected, the press service said.
Two cyclones hit Primorye in the past week. They brought torrential rains, up to 1.5 monthly precipitation levels in some areas.
