The main projects include a fast-speed railway linking the international airport of the city with the downtown railway station

KAZAN, April 28 (Itar-Tass) —— The capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan, which is to host the Universiade in 2013 is overhauling its railway infrastructure for the event and the progress will be discussed by republican President Rustam Minnikhanov with the local railway chief on Saturday.

“In the framework of preparations for the World Students’ Games a colossal volume of works is being implemented to reconstruct the transport infrastructure of the Kazan railway hub,” the presidential press service said.

The main projects include a fast-speed railway linking the international airport of the city with the downtown railway station.
