KHABAROVSK, April 27 (Itar-Tass) — The death toll reached three people in the fire in the village Tygda in the Amur Region. The remains of the dead man were found in the cleanup of the debris at the place of the burnt house, the press service of the regional police department told Itar-Tass on Friday.
“Presumably the remains of a 63-year-old man were found. He was reported missing for several days. A Tygda woman reported in the police about the man missing on the next day after the fire,” a source in the police explained.
The human remains were passed for an expertise.
It was earlier reported that two women, born in 1937 and 1935, died in the fire. A woman was found dead in the yard of the burnt house another one died of heavy burns at the hospital.
The Tygda fire, which broke out on April 20, destroyed 83 houses and more than 40 other buildings for several hours. Some 346 people, including 59 children, remained homeless.
The Amur regional authorities estimated that at least 500 million people will be needed to clean up the fire aftermaths. New houses will be built for people by autumn this year.
All people left homeless are temporarily accommodated at their relatives, acquaintances, the coaches of the train, which was dispatched to Tygda. People are provided with three daily hot meals, bedding and prime necessities.
Over 200 people already received monetary compensations. The payment of the compensations continues. The documents burnt in the fire are being restored as quick as possible.
On Thursday, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin instructed the Ministry of Regional Development to prepare urgently all documents for the payments of the compensations to people affected in the fire and instructed the law enforcement agencies to give a legal assessment to the actions of local economic entities.
