MOSCOW, April 27 (Itar-Tass) — A full-scale UN observer mission to Syria will be deployed within the next few days, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said on Thursday.
“The mission will be deployed within the next few days,” he said. “So far it will be 300 observers, but may be their number will be increased,” he added.
Bogdanov also said that UN resolution 2043 to send unarmed military observers to Syria “may be extended”. “All depends on the real situation. We are now actively discussing the ethnic composition of the mission,” he added.
