MOSCOW, April 25 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has expressed the hope that a summit of the G8 group of leading economies in 2014 in Skolkovo hi-tech hub near Moscow will help to boost this project.
“We have a decision – to hold one of the significant events that Russia will host, i.e. the G8 summit in 2014, there (in Skolkovo),” he told a meeting of Skolkovo’s board of trustees on Wednesday.
He expressed the hope that “combination of the common task (the creation of the innovative centre) and political subject can yield an effect.”
Medvedev admitted that the implementation of these plans will require strong efforts and substantial financing from the government and private investors.
