“One year of the crisis has shown that the dialogue is a necessary condition for resolving the situation,” Kadri Jamil said

MOSCOW, April 25 (Itar-Tass) — Russian diplomacy plays an active role in overcoming the crisis in Syria, the chief delegate of the Syrian Opposition, representative of the National Front for Freedom and Change, Kadri Jamil, told Itar-Tass upon arrival in Moscow.

“We do hope that our visit to Moscow will make a contribution to the solution of the Syrian crisis,” the chief delegate said. “Russian diplomacy plays an active role on this track. We would like to coordinate our actions.”

“From the outset we said that we need a dialogue,” Jamil said. “One year of the crisis has shown that the dialogue is a necessary condition for resolving the situation.”

“Not a single party has managed to turn the tide so far,” Jamil said. “The balance of force as it is, we should come to the negotiating table.”

In the course of the Syrian opposition delegation’s visit to Moscow there will be talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. On April 27 the delegation will meet with Russia’s special representative for the Middle East, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov.
