New concept of Russia’s defense policy to be finalized by yearend

The concept, Rogozin said, will be extended 30-40 years into the future

MOSCOW, April 24 (Itar-Tass) — A new concept of Russia’s defense policy will be finalized by the end of the year, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin has said.

In reply to a question from Itar-Tass Rogozin said that “the work on Russia’s security concept will begin in May.”

The concept, he said, will be extended 30-40 years into the future.

“In the middle of May we shall get down to this work. The doctrine will be finalized by the end of the year,” Rogozin said. “Now we shall have a different strategy. Putin had hinted at this. Now it will be implemented by the new president.”
