Russian tourists, stranded in Israel, return home

Some 70 persons were unable to fly from Russia

MOSCOW, April 23 (Itar-Tass) — All the tourists who suffered through the fault of the Idealny Mir /Ideal World/ travel firm and were stranded in Israel, have returned home, head of the legal department of the Rostourism federal tourism agency Izo Arakhamiya told a news conference on Monday.

"On Sunday, April 22, 56 Russian tourists, who were Idealny Mir clients, were unable to fly from Israeli airports, while ten Russians were stranded in Jordan. Some 70 persons were unable to fly from Russia.

"As of now, all the Idealny Mir clients, who were unable to return home, have left Israel," Arakhamiya said. Six persons stayed at the airport on Monday. They had purchased tickets of the Transaero airline at a special price and flew to Russia at 15:30, Moscow time," she added.

Idealny Mir claimed it had a 30-million-rouble coverage with the Rosgosstrakh insurance company, but Rosgosstrakh officials said on Monday the contract with the travel firm had expired in 2011.

"We have reasons to believe that Idealny Mir misled its clients and Rostourism by providing unauthentic information about valid insurance contract," a Rosgosstrakh official said.
