MOSCOW, April 23 (Itar-Tass) — Russia’s inflation in 2012 is expected to be 6 percent, Minister of Economic Development Elvira Nabiullina said.

“We hope that the downward trend will continue with regard to inflation,” she said at an expanded meeting of the ministry’s board on Monday, April 23.

The minister believes that such rate of inflation combined with measures aimed at raising salaries will boost real incomes of the population.

According to the ministry, people’s incomes in 2012 will grow by 5 percent compared to 0.8 percent in 2011.

“This is a serious trend in the growth of real incomes of the population,” Nabiullina said.
