MOSCOW, April 23 (Itar-Tass) — Nine militants have been destroyed in five special operations in Dagestan and Chechnya in the past 24 hours, the information center of the National Antiterrorist Committee /NAK/ told Itar-Tass on Monday.
Seven militants were destroyed in Dagestan and two in Chechnya.
On Monday, interior troops detected two armed persons in a forest five kilometers from the village of Gurbuki, Karabudakhkent district, Dagestan.
"The gunmen offered armed resistance as interior troops attempted to detain them, and were killed in the ensuing clash. Supposedly, the militants were members of the so-called Sergokali gang. Police are ascertaining their identities," a NAK official said.
