MOSCOW, April 23 (Itar-Tass) — Moscow Tagansky court judge Yelena Ivanova who considers the case of the Pussy Riot punk group members, has been attacked in the court building, a court source told Itar-Tass.

A man came to the judge and began to utter threats to her. The judge pressed an alarm button and asked for help, court press secretary Ksenia Lyapina said.

Policemen who arrived on the scene detained the offender. He is taken to a police office. Criminal case opening over the incident is under consideration now, Lyapina said, noting that an ax was seized from the man. With the ax the offender threatened the judge.

According to the press secretary, the man when he came into the court building was examined by court guards. The metal detector did not react to him.

The incident had no effect on the court work. The judge is at her working place and continues considering the case. Under consideration is extension of the arrest for the Pussy Riot members. The young women are in custody on suspicion of participating in outrageous actions, including the one in Moscow's Cathedral of Christ the Savior that raised wide public outcry.
