TEL AVIV, April 23 (Itar-Tass) — Eight clients of Russia’s bankrupt tour operator Ideal World still remain in Israel. They are expected to be flown to Moscow on a Transaero plane later on Monday, Russian Consul to Israel Ruslan Kandaurov told Tass.
“The bulk of the tourists flew home at their own expense on different planes on Sunday, and eight people – six Russian nationals and one Ukrainian woman, remain in Israel as they had no money to buy tickets,” the diplomat said.
“We accommodated them for the night, provided them with meals, and financial problems of tickets purchase are being settled in cooperation with the Rosturizm Federal Agency for Tourism and Transaero Airlines. I hope everything will be okay, and we are now getting ready to take them to the airport from where they are expected to fly to Moscow,” he said.
The consul explained that several dozen clients of the Ideal World arrived in Israel several days ago by planes of different carriers from several points of departure. None of them was flown by Transaero or Aeroflot planes and was on these carriers’ list of passengers departing from Israel.
Some vouchers, looking like e-tickets of Russian carriers, that the tourists had proved to be fake.
The Ideal World offers tours to Israel, Jordan, the Czech Republic, Indonesia, Ukraine and Belarus. It has offices in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Kiev.
