MAKHACHKALA, April 23 (Itar-Tass) — One gunman was killed in an attack on interior troops of the Russian Interior Ministry in Dagestan’s Karabudakhent district early on Monday, a law enforcement source has told Itar-Tass.
“At about 7 am, Moscow time, military from Interior Ministry’s interior troops came under fire from unidentified gunmen during a reconnaissance and search operation near the settlement of Kakamakhi,” the source said.
The killed gunman has been identified, but his name is not disclosed in the interest of the investigation. Two cashes with a Kalashnikov submachine gun and a machine gun were found in that area. None of the military was injured. The operation continues.
