Timoshenko lawyer to sue first dep prosecutor gen for false info

The lawyer Timoshenko intends to file a lawsuit in London against Ukrainian First Deputy Prosecutor General Kuzmin for the spreading of false information

KIEV, April 23 (Itar-Tass) —— The lawyer of the former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko intends to file a lawsuit in London against Ukrainian First Deputy Prosecutor General Renat Kuzmin for the spreading of false information, Timoshenko’s lawyer and a deputy of the Ukrainian parliament, Sergei Vlasenko, said live on the Ukrainian television channel TBi on Sunday.

“We file a lawsuit against Kuzmin this week in a London court over the spreading of the false information in an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC),” Vlasenko said. He noted that the lawsuit will be filed in the London court, because Kuzmin spread the information through the BBC.

“Whereas Kuzmin’s information may be found false, there are some more options. Under some circumstances Kuzmin can be found guilty in Great Britain,” the lawyer said. Meanwhile, Vlasenko did not emphasize what false information in particular Kuzmin reported about Timoshenko.

Yulia Timoshenko serves seven years at the Kachanovo penitentiary for the abuse of powers in the signing of the gas agreement with Russia in 2009.
