Flood situation deteriorates in Ryazan Region

The flood inundated 543 houses on 27 streets

MOSCOW, April 22 (Itar-Tass) —— The flood situation has become more complicated in the Ryazan Region.

The Moksha River overflowed its banks in the village of Kadom, the press service of the Emergencies Ministry's regional department told Itar-Tass.

The flood inundated 543 houses on 27 streets, in which 1,179, including 120 children, reside.

Four temporary accommodation stations for 730 people are prepared in case of evacuation -- in the Kadom house of children’s creative work, a kindergarten, the Kadom central hospital and the dormitory of the local technological school.

Only five people have been evacuated there. All are accommodated in the Kadom central hospital.

More than 100 people work there to deal with the flood and help the population.

Operational headquarters are working at the department for emergencies to control the situation. The headquarters have opened a telephone hot line.
