MOSCOW, April 21 (Itar-Tass) — Five sleepers were dispatched to the Tygda rail station in the Amur Region to accommodate residents, deprived of home by a fire, Itar-Tass learnt at the Russian Railway Company.
“Five trucks arrived at Tygda on Friday to render aid to fire victims. Five sleepers were dispatched to the village from the Shimanskaya station at a request of the governor of the Amur Region to accommodate villagers and a restaurant wagon to organize meals for them,” said a source.
Besides, on an order of the management of the Trans-Baikal Railway, the children’s health-building camp Medvezhonok (Bear cub) handed over sets of linen for the needs of victims.
A railway official said that the building of the Tygda station is open for fire victims, and it is ready to accommodate ten people. The Magdagachi station prepared 47 cots at the rest house for locomotive teams as well as 200 cots – at the House of Culture of Railwaymen.
“The management of the Trans-Baikal Railway set up the crisis centre in connection with the fire, while another crisis centre operates directly at the station,” emphasized the railway representative.
The Russian Ministry for Emergencies reported earlier that according to the latest data, the fire destroyed 83 dwelling houses in Tygda, where 346 people lived. As many as 40 auxiliary buildings also burnt down.
The fire that flared up at a sawmill, leaped to dwelling houses and household buildings on Friday over strong wind gusts in Tygda, Amur Region.
One man died, and a woman with extensive burns is at an intensive care ward, reported the Amur Region police department. Several people turned for aid to medics in Tygda in connection with heart attacks. Ambulance teams from Magdachi and other nearby villages work in Tygda.
More than 180 people were evacuated from the calamity zone. They live at temporary accommodation centres and at relatives.
The fire was fully put out in Tygda at 09.00. There is no threat of ignition of new seats of fire.
