77 wildfires registered in Far East over past 24 hours

Seventy seven wildfires were registered in the Far East over the past 24 hours on an area of 1,508 hectares

KHABAROVSK, April 21 (Itar-Tass) —— Seventy seven wildfires were registered in the Far East over the past 24 hours on an area of 1,508 hectares. Forty nine fires on an area of over 1,256 hectares were extinguished, ITAR-TASS learnt at the Far Eastern Centre of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies on Saturday.

To liquidate wildfires, almost 1,070 people and 210 units of equipment, including 11 fire fighting aircraft, were involved.

On Saturday, fires continue raging on the territories of the Amur Region, the Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territories and the Jewish Autonomous Region. The majority of fires break out through people’s fault. The emergency regime, prohibiting people to visit forests, was introduced in eight districts of the Amur Region.
