Three field kitchens and tents for hot meals for fire victims were set up on Saturday in the village of Tygda

KHABAROVSK, April 21 (Itar-Tass) — Three field kitchens and tents for hot meals for fire victims were set up on Saturday in the village of Tygda, Amur Region, Itar-Tass learnt at the regional branch of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies.

The fire destroyed 47 dwelling houses and two dozens of other buildings in the village on Friday. One person died and another one was hospitalised in a serious state. Four villagers turned for medical aid. Around 120 people, including 28 children, are without shelter.

More than 180 people were evacuated from the calamity zone. They live at temporary accomocation points or at relatives.

Governor of the Amur Region Oleg Kozhemyako meets Tygda residents on Saturday, Itar-Tass learnt at the regiongal government. Monetary and other aid will be rendered to every family, taking into account damage incurred.

The regional head agreed with the management of the Trans-Baikal Railway the question on dispatching a train of five coaches and a restaurant-wagon to Tygda for temporary accomodation of shelterless villagers. Besides, a building for 100 people was prepared in the neighbouring village of Magdagachi.

According to preliminary information, the reason for the devastating fire was a flare-up on the grounds of a sawmill. The situation was aggravated by very strong winds with gusts up to 25m/sec : the fire was leaping from one building to another in a matter of seconds.
