YEKATERINBURG, April 20 (Itar-Tass) —— The Russian Ministry of Economic Development forecasts Russia’s inflation in May at the level of not higher than in April, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Andrei Klepach told journalists.

“In April, it was equal to 0.4 percent. I don’t think that it will be higher in May,” the deputy minister said.

According to Rosstat, Russia’s inflation at April 16 amounted to 0.1 percent, since the beginning of the month - - 0.2 percent, since the beginning of the year - - 1.7 percent. In 2011, as of the beginning of April, inflation amounted to 0.3 percent, since the beginning of the year - - 4.1 percent, over April as a whole - - 0.4 percent.

According to the results of 2011, Russia’s inflation amounted to 6.1 percent, which became its lowest index since 1991.
