KIEV, April 20 (Itar-Tass) — Doctors from the German clinic Charite, who are examining the opportunities for treating Ukraine's former Prime Minister Yulias Timoshenko at a railway hospital in the northeast city of Kharkov where she is serving a jail term, have not made any complaints against the hospital, the Healthcare Ministry said Thursday quoting official data from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

The report said the German experts had submitted their findings on the treatment opportunities existing in the hospital to the German embassy in Kiev.

“Their letter says, in part, the railway clinic has a warm and hospitable atmosphere and the doctors do not have any critical remarks against the building,” the ministry said. “The doctors also pointed out the presence of all the necessary equipment at the departments of diagnostics and therapy.”

“They stressed the availability of all the sanitary elements in the wards and said the equipment was of a very good quality,” the report said.

“The doctors voiced satisfaction with the fact the clinic has all the necessary equipment for teleconferences with doctors inside Ukraine and in other European countries,” it said.

“The German physicians noted full readiness on the Ukrainian side for cooperation and stressed the absence of bias on the part of doctors at the railway hospital,” the ministry said.

It claimed the Germans “do not have any doubts about the high professional qualifications of their Ukrainian counterparts and they stress the presence of fair motivation and /professional/ competence on the Ukrainian side,” the report said.

“The /German physicians’/ conclusion says the authorities in Ukraine have made considerable steps to safeguard Timoshenko’s well-being and to create the best possible conditions for her medical treatment and rehabilitation,” the ministry said.

It also quoted the physicians saying the Kharkov railway clinic has a perfect capability for treating patients with intervertebral disc problems.

The Charite clinic staff members put a special accent on the issues of psychological character linked to Timoshenko’s mistrust in Ukrainian doctors.
