UNITED NATIONS, April 19 (Itar-Tass) — The United Nations Security Council may quickly pass a new resolution authorizing the deployment of a full-format monitoring mission in Syria, Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vitaly Churkin told journalists on Thursday after the Council’s morning session. It discussed the proposals of U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on deploying a ceasefire monitoring mission in Syria.
Some Security Council members said they would like to have fresh information on Syria next week, Churkin stressed.
