Four magnitude quake hits Iturup island, South Kuriles

According to the Kurilsk city administration, no tremours were felt in the city and no casualties and destructions were reported

VLADIVOSTOK, April 19 (Itar-Tass) — An earthquake measuring 4.4 points on the Richter scale rocked the largest island of the South Kuriles – Iturup.

According to the Geophysics Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences, earth jolts were registered late on Wednesday. The epicenter was located around 80 kilometers south of the city of Kurilsk at the depth of 110 kilometers.

According to the Kurilsk city administration, no tremours were felt in the city and no casualties and destructions were reported.
