MAKHACHKALA, April 18 (Itar-Tass) —— A policeman was killed and another wounded in a shootout with bandits in Tsumadin district of Dagestan.

At about 14:00 Moscow time near Kvanada settlement staffers of local police, during a search operation, came upon a group of militants. In an ensuing shootout a policeman was killed and another wounded, representative of the investigation department of the Russian Investigation Committee for Dagestan told Itar-Tass. The gang is pursued.
