MOSCOW, April 18 (Itar-Tass) — The first joint training of the participants in an upcoming military parade on the occasion of Victory Day was held in Alabino, Moscow Region. The military parade will be held on the Red Square in Moscow, spokesman of the Russian Air Force Col. Vladimir Drik told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
“The crews of the warplanes held successfully the first joint training with infantry and mechanized parade units of the troops at the Alabino fire range in the Moscow Region,” he said. “The flight time has made about one hour,” Drik said.
“The warplanes practiced various elements of the flight, including a takeoff with minimal intervals from the airfield in Kubinka, the flight at short distances and intervals in the group,” Drik noted. “The army helicopters Mi-8 were engaged in the training,” he said.
“The joint trainings of the army aviation will continue in Alabino on April 20 and April 23,” the spokesman said. “Two young crews from the Torzhok centre of advanced training for pilots are participating in the training for the parade for the first time,” Drik pointed out.
The crews from the Torzhok centre will highlight the festive part of the Victory Parade and will carry the flags of the Russian Federation, the Russian Armed Forces and various arms of the Armed Forces over the Red Square on May 9.
