MOSCOW, April 18 (Itar-Tass) —— Outgoing President Dmitry Medvedev has submitted a bill to the State Duma for approval, which envisages a continuity of legal regulations on two territories in the Moscow Region, which will be officially adjoined to Moscow, the Kremlin press service said on Wednesday. One of the clauses of the bill stipulates tariffs charged for electricity consumption and communal services to citizens.
At present, there is a substantial difference between the tariffs charged for communal services in the city proper and in the Moscow Region. If a single tariff is charged for electricity supply to the population of the adjoined territories it will face tariff hikes of 18.9 percent or six percent up the maximum tariff increases permitted.
The bill envisages a possibility to retain the tariffs charged on the new territories at the previous level and authorizes the Moscow Regional Energy Commission to establish tariffs on these territories different from the tariffs in effect in the city proper at present, with subsequent leveling up the tariffs on the present city territory and new territories adjoined to Moscow.
